NY man arrested with 120 pounds of cannabis, fentanyl on I-87

MALTA — State Police arrested a New York man after discovering more than 120 pounds of cannabis and fentanyl pills during a traffic stop on Interstate 87.

William M. Buckshot, 58, of Hogansburg, was arrested May 2 at approximately 1:50 p.m. following a vehicle stop for a traffic violation.

Troopers assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit found the cannabis and more than a pound of pills that later field-tested positive for fentanyl in Buckshot’s vehicle.

Buckshot faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, criminal possession of cannabis in the first degree, and vehicle and traffic law violations.

After processing at State Police Saratoga, Buckshot was arraigned at Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
