ENOSBURG — Vermont State Police arrested a 27-year-old Enosburg man Monday after he allegedly threatened to kill and attempted to strangle a victim during a domestic dispute.
Mark Clapper was taken into custody around 11:15 a.m. after briefly fleeing on foot from troopers who responded to a report of a domestic fight at 327 Main St.
According to police, Clapper threatened to kill the 28-year-old victim and attempted strangulation by placing both hands around the victim’s neck.
Investigators determined Clapper was violating existing conditions of release related to the victim and had multiple outstanding arrest warrants.
Troopers located Clapper shortly after he fled and arrested him without incident.
Clapper faces charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and violation of conditions of release.
He was ordered held without bail and transported to the Northwest Correctional Center.
