GLENS FALLS — Two people died after a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Glens Falls following a brief police pursuit.

New York State Police responded to Bacon Street at approximately 12:23 a.m. for reports of a motorcycle crash.

The operator, Alex S. Morehouse, 38, of Warrensburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, Suzie J. Etu, 38, of South Glens Falls, was transported to Glens Falls Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

According to investigators, troopers had attempted to stop the motorcycle on State Route 9 near Hidden Farm Road in Queensbury for a speeding violation at approximately 12:20 a.m.

The motorcycle failed to comply with the traffic stop, prompting officers to disengage their emergency lights and end the pursuit at the intersection of State Route 9 and Lafayette Street due to public safety concerns about the motorcycle’s speed.

Shortly after, members of the Glens Falls Police Department witnessed the motorcycle strike a curb and crash on Bacon Street at the intersection of Glen Street.

The New York State Attorney General’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
