WEYMOUTH — Two men were arrested during a traffic stop on Washington Street Friday night, according to Weymouth Police.
Officers conducted the stop at approximately 10:15 p.m. on May 2, leading to the arrest of Anthony Malvarosa, 50, of Nashua, and Bryan Ash, 34, of Quincy.
Malvarosa, who was wanted on eight active warrants, attempted to flee the scene before being apprehended, police said.
The warrants were for various offenses including breaking and entering, larceny, and indecent exposure.
During the arrest, Malvarosa allegedly assaulted a detective and resisted officers.
Ash was found with three baggies containing white powdery substances, according to police.
Field testing confirmed two baggies contained cocaine and the third tested positive for fentanyl.
Malvarosa faces charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, in addition to the eight outstanding warrants.
Ash was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl.
Malvarosa was held without bail while Ash was released on personal recognizance.
Both men were arraigned at Quincy District Court.
