WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers arrested a 23-year-old man for armed robbery after he allegedly stole Jordan sneakers and cash at gunpoint.
Officers responded to Southbridge Street at 4:39 a.m. on May 3 following reports of an armed robbery.
The victim told police he was robbed at gunpoint, losing a pair of Jordan sneakers and a small amount of cash.
After providing officers with a detailed description of the suspect, police located a man matching that description on Front Street.
When the suspect spotted officers, he allegedly threw an iPhone into the grass and attempted to walk away.
Officers stopped the individual, identified as Devondre Cooper of Worcester.
The victim positively identified Cooper as the robber.
Cooper was placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery and larceny from a person.
