Highland police arrest 6 on various charges

HIGHLAND — The Town of Lloyd Police Department has arrested six individuals on various charges ranging from assault to drug possession over a one-week period.

Carlos J. King, 30, of Highland, was arrested May 2 on an arrest warrant for felony second-degree assault and second-degree menacing.

King, who is on parole for first-degree assault, is accused of assaulting another person and causing serious facial injuries.

He was transported to the Ulster County Jail and arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part Court where he was remanded on $50,000 cash bail.

Katelyn F. Hornbeck, 36, of Highland, was arrested May 3 and charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Hornbeck was found unconscious behind the wheel of her vehicle in the parking lot of the Speedway Store on Route 299 in Highland.

She was transported to the Ulster County Jail, arraigned, and subsequently released.

Gregory A. Carter, 26, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested April 27 and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol after being stopped for traffic violations on Route 44/55 in Highland.

Carter was released on an appearance ticket.

Philip G. Canino, 44, of Highland, was arrested April 29 and charged with third-degree menacing after allegedly threatening another person with a knife during a domestic dispute.

Canino was arraigned by Town of Lloyd Judge Elia and released.

Rickey E. McVay, 44, of Poughkeepsie, who has 20 prior arrests according to police, was arrested April 28 on a bench warrant for petit larceny.

McVay was transported to the Ulster County Jail, arraigned, and released.

Britney A. Husted, 35, who is homeless, was arrested April 30 on a bench warrant for petit larceny.

She was arraigned by Town of Marlborough Judge Pascale and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $750 cash bail.

All six individuals are scheduled to appear in the Town of Lloyd Court on May 8.
