ERIN — A third individual has been arrested following last Friday’s search warrant execution at 147 Matthews Circle in the Village of Horseheads.

Michael L. Lyon Jr., 41, of 48 Staples Rd., Erin, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

Lyon was apprehended Friday evening when sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police troopers responded to his residence regarding outstanding warrants.

When law enforcement approached his front door, Lyon attempted to flee through the back of the house but was immediately intercepted by officers positioned there.

Authorities took Lyon into custody without incident.

In addition to the charge stemming from the Matthews Circle search warrant, Lyon faced three additional warrants, including one for petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

The other two were Superior Court warrants for two counts of third-degree grand larceny and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all class D felonies.
