CHARLOTTE — A Burlington man was arrested after allegedly violating an abuse prevention order at a residence in Charlotte, according to Vermont State Police.

Brittan Higgins, 24, was taken into custody on May 5 after police investigated a report received on April 22 at 1:27 p.m.

Investigators determined Higgins had violated the order by making direct contact with a protected party and through a third party, as well as violating a 300-foot restriction requirement.

Troopers transported Higgins to the Chittenden County Courthouse where he appeared before a judge.

The judge ordered Higgins held without bail, and he was subsequently transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility.

Higgins faces charges of violating an abuse prevention order as a second or subsequent offense.
