PITTSFIELD — Four individuals were arrested and charged with multiple felonies after being caught inside a residence during an alleged burglary in progress, the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded to a 911 call on May 4 reporting four people actively removing property from a home in the Town of Pittsfield.
A sheriff’s sergeant arrived at the scene and found the suspects inside the residence, where they had allegedly forcibly entered with intent to steal property.
Autumn H. Knapp, 24, of Morris, faces the most serious charges, including second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree conspiracy, all felonies.
Deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine and a collapsible baton in Knapp’s possession during a search.
Also arrested were Richard Suarez, 50, of Morris; Travis R. Wilson, 49, of Pittsfield; and Danielle I. Bemis/Wilson, 41, of Pittsfield.
All three additional suspects were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree conspiracy, second-degree criminal trespass, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Following centralized arraignment at Pittsfield Town Court, Knapp was remanded on $15,000 cash or $30,000 surety bond.
Wilson and Bemis/Wilson were each remanded on $5,000 cash or $10,000 surety bond, while Suarez was remanded without bail.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
