2 arrested in separate incidents in Chemung County

ELMIRA — Two Chemung County men were arrested in separate incidents last week on misdemeanor charges, according to Sheriff William A. Schrom.

Timothy Belloma, 38, of Elmira, was arrested May 3 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree following a traffic stop in the Town of Southport.

Belloma was issued an appearance ticket for the Class A misdemeanor and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southport Court at a later date.

In a separate incident, Steven C. Witiaz, 42, of Elmira Heights, was arrested May 1 for petit larceny after allegedly stealing from Walmart in the Town of Horseheads.

Witiaz was also issued an appearance ticket for the Class A misdemeanor and is set to appear in the Horseheads Town Court at a later date.
