RICHMOND — Vermont State Police arrested a St. George man on suspicion of driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

Andrew J. Bruce, 24, was traveling on East Hill Road in Richmond when his 2025 Honda Civic left the roadway and crashed into a yard around 4:17 a.m., police said.

The crash caused all airbags to deploy, and the vehicle sustained severe front-end damage.

Troopers responding to the scene detected indicators of impairment while speaking with Bruce, according to police.

Bruce was wearing a seat belt and reported no injuries.

He was arrested and transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

Bruce was later released with a citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court on May 22 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of DUI #1.

The crash occurred during rainy conditions on wet roads.
