THETFORD — A Massachusetts woman died and three others were injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 91 South during rainy conditions Saturday afternoon.
Vermont State Police responded to the crash near mile marker 83.4 in Thetford at approximately 1:54 p.m. on May 3.
Troopers determined a 2004 Pontiac GTO traveling southbound failed to maintain its lane and struck a guardrail.
Passenger Alyssa Tetreault, 27, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
The driver, Joseph Hamilton, 40, of Plaistow, New Hampshire, suffered suspected major injuries and was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.
Two children, ages 8 and 5, both from Massachusetts, were also in the vehicle and transported to DHMC with suspected minor injuries.
Both juveniles were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Hamilton was cited to appear in Orange County Criminal Court on June 11 to answer to the charge of Gross Negligent Operation – Death Resulting.
The crash remains under investigation.
