UTICA — A 49-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a hammer during an argument over money at a Genesee Street apartment.
Utica Police and Fire units responded to 1434 Genesee St. at approximately 5:20 p.m. on April 30 following reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, officers met with a male victim who told police he was inside an apartment with a group of people when a female began arguing with him about money.
The victim reported that as the argument escalated, the woman grabbed a hammer and repeatedly struck him in the head and body.
The man was able to flee the apartment and contact police.
Patrol officers located the suspect and took her into custody without incident.
Dorothea Rolle, 49, of Utica, was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with attempted assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and petit larceny.
