Man arrested for DUI, cocaine possession after vehicle found off road in Waltham

WALTHAM — Vermont State Police arrested a Vergennes man on drug-related charges after finding his vehicle off the roadway early Friday morning.

Troopers responded to Green Street near S Middlebrook Road at approximately 1:21 a.m. on May 2 after reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle on the northbound shoulder and identified the driver as Thomas J. Blaise, 44, of Vergennes.

During their interaction with Blaise, troopers observed signs of impairment and discovered cocaine in his possession.

Blaise was arrested on suspicion of DUI – Drug and possession of cocaine.

He was transported to the Middlebury Police Department for processing and later released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on June 30 at 12:30 p.m.

The Middlebury Police Department assisted state troopers at the scene.
