CLINTON — New York State Police seized more than 1,100 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in Clinton on May 1.
Members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit stopped a 2022 BMW sedan for vehicle and traffic violations at approximately 2:30 p.m.
During the investigation, officers discovered approximately 1,176.4 grams of cocaine in possession of the vehicle’s occupants.
James E. Brown, 43, of Rensselaer, who was driving the vehicle, and front-seat passenger Jyquez K. Grant, 23, of Voorheesville, were both arrested at the scene.
Both men face charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree, a Class A-I felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B felony.
Brown and Grant were arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
