AURELIUS — A Throop man faces drunk driving charges after deputies observed him driving recklessly near the Finger Lakes Mall on April 29.
Kelly G. Caster, 29, was arrested at approximately 11:22 p.m. when a Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Clark Street Road.
According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, the deputy observed Caster’s pickup truck exit the mall parking lot and proceed to drive recklessly.
Following standardized field sobriety tests, Caster was determined to be driving while intoxicated.
Caster was transported to the Public Safety Building where he was charged with DWI (first offense), reckless driving, and additional traffic infractions.
After refusing to provide a breath sample to determine his blood alcohol content, Caster was brought to Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Aurelius Court at a later date.
