POWNAL — A Bennington man faces a simple assault charge after allegedly striking a woman at a residence on U.S. Route 7.
Vermont State Police responded to a report of a citizen dispute at 2323 U.S. Route 7 in Pownal at 4:15 p.m. April 28.
Investigation revealed that Noel Washington, 40, of Bennington had caused physical injury and pain to Brianna Lown, 27, of Pownal by striking her, according to police.
Washington was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on June 23 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of simple assault.
