ANSONIA — The Ansonia Police Department is investigating an illegal street takeover that occurred within city limits on April 26.
The incident disrupted traffic, endangered public safety and created significant disturbances in the community, according to police.
Detectives are reviewing evidence, including surveillance footage and eyewitness statements, while working with regional partners on the investigation.
“We are committed to identifying and arresting all individuals involved in organizing, promoting, and participating in this unlawful gathering,” the department said in a statement.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying participants shown in video evidence of the incident.

Authorities emphasized that street takeovers are illegal and dangerous activities that will not be tolerated in the city.
