Man arrested after domestic dispute outside Bath auto parts store

BATH — A 21-year-old Bath man was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting a woman while a young child was present outside a local auto parts store.

Bath Police responded to Auto Zone on West Morris Street around 2:08 p.m. following reports of a male beating a female.

The suspect, identified as Nicholas Harrison, fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

An off-duty New York State Trooper assisted the victim during the altercation and helped identify the suspect.

After interviewing multiple witnesses and the victim, officers located Harrison behind the Microtel on West Morris Street and took him into custody.

Harrison was charged with unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, both class A misdemeanors, and aggravated family offense, a class E felony.

Following processing, Harrison was transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was arraigned and released without bail.
