LOWELL — Vermont State Police arrested a 40-year-old Lowell man Thursday on charges of second-degree aggravated domestic assault and offense in the presence of a child.
Sean Montgomery was taken into custody after police responded to a residence on VT Route 58 E at approximately 12:24 p.m.
The investigation began when Probation & Parole officials notified state police about a possible domestic assault at the Lowell home.
Investigators determined that Montgomery had physically assaulted the victim while a child was present.
Montgomery was transported to the Derby Barracks for processing following his arrest.
He was later lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility.
Montgomery is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges.
The Vermont State Police did not release the name of the victim, in accordance with their policy regarding victims of domestic violence.
