Kingston man charged after hit-and-run at local bookstore

KINGSTON — A 31-year-old Ulster Park man has been arrested after allegedly striking an outdoor seating area with his pickup truck and leaving the scene without reporting the incident.

David A. Naccarato was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, according to the Kingston Police Department.

The incident occurred on April 24 at approximately 4:45 a.m., when Naccarato was operating a 2013 Chevy pickup on Crown Street and struck an outdoor sitting area and picnic table in front of Rough Draft Bar and Books.

Police said Naccarato left the scene without reporting the accident to anyone.

Following an investigation by members of the Kingston Police Department, Naccarato and his vehicle were located.

Authorities said Naccarato subsequently admitted to operating the vehicle and causing the damage.

Naccarato was processed and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Kingston City Court on May 13.
