BRANFORD — A 52-year-old man is facing murder charges after his 12-year-old son was found dead at their home on Hemlock Road, police said Friday.
Anthony Andrew Esposito, Jr. was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop on Route 79 with assistance from Connecticut State Police.
The victim, identified as Anthony P. Esposito, was found at 100 Hemlock Road on Thursday, May 1.
Esposito, Jr. was arraigned Friday morning at New Haven Superior Court, GA 23 on charges of murder with special circumstances and criminal attempt to commit murder.
Police said the suspect also attempted to murder another family member.
The department is working with Branford Public School System to provide grief counselors and support services to students, staff, and families affected by the tragedy.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to police.
