NORTH HAVEN — Two East Haven residents were arrested for stealing personal items from a grave at All Saints Cemetery, police announced Tuesday.
Robert Natale, 45, and Krista Natale, 44, were taken into custody on arrest warrants after being identified as suspects in the theft.
The pair allegedly stole sentimental items that had been placed at a loved one’s gravestone by a mourning family.
North Haven police credited patrol officers and assistance from the victim’s family in identifying the suspects.
The thefts occurred in a sacred space meant for mourning and reflection, causing significant emotional distress to the grieving family, according to authorities.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court to face charges related to the cemetery thefts.
