NASHUA — A woman died early Thursday after being struck by a vehicle on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua, according to New Hampshire State Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:01 a.m. on May 1 when state police began receiving reports of a pedestrian struck on the southbound side of the turnpike near mile marker .4, just over the Massachusetts border.
State troopers and Nashua Police Department officers responded to the scene where they found an adult female who had suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado involved in the crash remained at the scene and was found stopped in the breakdown lane.
Southbound travel lanes were closed for several hours while authorities conducted an investigation.
The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
