Valley Stream firefighters respond to car fire, provide mutual aid

VALLEY STREAM — The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department has been busy responding to multiple incidents both in town and providing mutual aid to neighboring communities.

Yesterday, Ladder 346 responded to assist the Malverne Fire Department with a house fire.

This morning at 10:15 a.m., firefighters were called to a car fire at the Peninsula Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road.

Engine 343 and Ladder 345 were first to arrive at the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported.

All operations were under the command of Chief of Department Anthony Capone.

This afternoon, Engine 343 was dispatched to cover the Long Beach Fire Department while Long Beach firefighters battled a second-alarm house fire.
