TUPPER LAKE — A New York man faces multiple felony charges after fleeing from State Police during a traffic stop, authorities said.

Aaron M. Brown, 33, of Whitesboro, was arrested on April 30 following a vehicle pursuit that began the previous evening in the village of Tupper Lake.

Brown faces four counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, unlawful possession of a skimmer device in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

A passenger, Nichole M. Slattery, 28, of Oneida, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

According to police, Troopers stationed on Park Street observed a 2008 Subaru commit a traffic violation at approximately 7:15 p.m. on April 29.

When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to comply, leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended when Brown eventually pulled over, at which point Slattery exited the vehicle and both were taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed Brown had multiple active warrants, police said.

Both individuals were transported to State Police in Tupper Lake for processing.

Slattery was issued appearance tickets to return to court in Tupper Lake at a later date in May.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of Tupper Lake Court and remanded to the Franklin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, a $10,000 secured bond, or a $20,000 partially secured bond.
