TROY — Troy police arrested a 19-year-old man found with an illegal handgun following a domestic call Tuesday.
Officers from the 2nd platoon patrol units responded to the call involving a handgun at about 11:40 a.m. on April 29.
The incident was reported by members of the public who provided a description of the suspect.
Patrol units quickly responded to the area and soon observed and stopped a male matching the description.
Jimmie White III, 19, of Troy, was found to be in possession of an illegal handgun.
White was taken into custody and arraigned in Troy City Court before being sent to Rensselaer County Jail.
He faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree – loaded firearm.
The case is being handled by the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office.
