SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly punching a woman and threatening her with a handgun.
Police responded to the 100 block of Dawes Avenue around 11:09 p.m. regarding a domestic incident involving a weapon.
Officers discovered that a female victim had been punched multiple times in the face by a male suspect.
The suspect, identified as Nathan Jones Jr., 54, left the scene and returned with a handgun to threaten the victim before fleeing in a vehicle.
Officers Crowell, Ponticello and Albolino tracked Jones’ vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop in the 100 block of West Calthrop Avenue.
A search of the vehicle revealed a Masterpiece Arms 9mm tactical pistol with an extended magazine.
Jones was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.
He was lodged in the Onondaga County Justice Center following his arrest.
