Providence man arrested for check fraud at Lincoln Woods Barracks

LINCOLN — A Providence man was arrested Wednesday on charges of check fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses, state police said.

Victor Bulux, 31, of Providence, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. April 30 at the Lincoln Woods Barracks following an investigation.

Bulux faces charges of fraudulent checks over $1,500 and obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500.

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Bulux was arraigned and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

In a separate incident, Donald Brotherton, 39, of Central Falls, was arrested at 12:03 a.m. May 1 on an outstanding warrant for domestic vandalism.

Troopers stopped Brotherton’s vehicle on Broad Street in Pawtucket and discovered he was wanted by the Pawtucket Police Department on a third-offense domestic vandalism charge.

Brotherton was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being turned over to Pawtucket police.

Hours later, at 4:03 a.m., troopers arrested Cesar Geovany Ajpop Lobos, 19, of Providence, following a crash on Route 95 North in Providence.

Ajpop Lobos was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs and refusing to submit to a chemical test, both first offenses.

After processing and arraignment, Ajpop Lobos was released to a responsible adult.
