Boston police recover firearm, drugs in Dorchester raid

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Units recovered a firearm and trafficking amounts of fentanyl and crack cocaine during a raid early Wednesday.

At about 7 a.m., on Wednesday, April 30, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District C-6 (South Boston) and District A-7 (East Boston) arrested Ayman Mohamed, 19, of Dorchester, on firearm and drug trafficking charges.

Officers were conducting a drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 108 North Point Drive, Dorchester.

As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered approximately eighty-nine grams of crack cocaine, seventeen grams of fentanyl, and about $21,069 in U.S. Currency.

Officers also recovered a Glock 23 with one round in the chamber and eighteen rounds in a high-capacity magazine.

Mohamed was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID, unlawful possession of a high capacity feeding device, improper storage of a firearm, trafficking of Class A, and trafficking of Class B.
