GEORGIA — A Swanton man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after state police discovered he had multiple active warrants and was driving with a criminally suspended license.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks stopped a vehicle on U.S. Route 7 in Georgia at approximately 2:13 p.m. April 29 after observing a motor vehicle violation.
The driver was identified as Rykeem Allen, 32, of Swanton.
During the investigation, troopers discovered Allen had multiple active arrest warrants for charges including operation of a vehicle with a suspended license and DUI involving drugs.
Allen was taken into custody and transported to Franklin County Courthouse where he appeared before a judge.
He was later transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility and held on $200 bail.
Allen was also issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court Criminal Division on June 16 at 8:30 a.m. for the additional charge of criminal driving with license suspended.
