WICKFORD — Rhode Island State Police arrested a Massachusetts woman on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses at the Wickford Barracks on Tuesday.
Laurys Abreu, 35, of Norwood, turned herself in at 10:45 a.m. following an investigation conducted by Trooper Vasconcelos.
Abreu, who resides at 12 Davis Avenue, was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500.
She was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date in Sixth Division District Court.
In a separate incident, troopers arrested Kaylin Marino, 30, of Woonsocket, at 1:04 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 117 in Warwick.
Marino, a resident of 43 5th Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor (BAC unknown) – first offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test – first offense.
She was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date in Third Division District Court.
