WATERBURY — Vermont State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 16-year-old girl from Calais who left her home Tuesday evening and has not returned.
Kiara Cookson was reported as a runaway juvenile after she left her residence in Calais on April 29 at approximately 8 p.m.
Cookson told family members she would return later that evening, but as of 4:30 a.m. on April 30, she had not returned home and attempts to contact her have been unsuccessful.
She is described as 5’9″ with shoulder-length brown hair, approximately 200 pounds, and hazel eyes.
Cookson was last seen wearing black shorts, a black t-shirt, Birkenstock sandals, and white Nike socks.
Police believe she is with a male juvenile and may be traveling in a black 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander with unknown Vermont temporary registration.
State Police remind the public that knowingly harboring a runaway juvenile is a criminal violation.
