PALERMO — Maine State Police are investigating a homicide after discovering a man’s body outside his residence during a welfare check Saturday morning.
Troopers responded to 128 Boots and Saddle Road in Palermo at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 19, where they found the deceased male.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit Central determined the circumstances of the death to be suspicious.
The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Robert Bruso of Palermo following an autopsy at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Authorities say there is no known danger to the public.
Bruso’s female golden retriever named Lennie has not yet been located.
Police advise the public not to chase the dog if seen.
