PORTLAND — Investigators from the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office executed a search warrant Tuesday at a Portland residence in connection with a fatal fire that occurred at the property nearly two months ago.
The search began at approximately 8 a.m. at 11 Olympia Street as part of an ongoing investigation into the March 6 fire.
Officials said investigators will be actively working the scene for the next two days.
The investigation is being conducted with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Fire Marshal’s Office Inspections Division, Portland Police Department, and Portland Fire Department.
As part of the operation, the area surrounding 11 Olympia Street will be closed to traffic.
The public is advised to avoid the area while investigators continue to collect evidence.
Authorities have not released additional details, citing the active nature of the investigation.
