ARDSLEY — State Police arrested a Bronx man on multiple felony charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 87 led to the discovery of cocaine and a weapon.
Jeikob Javier Guzman, 34, was arrested on April 25 and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Tampering with Evidence, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree.
The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop initiated at 11:23 p.m. on April 24, when State Police pulled over a BMW X5 traveling northbound on Interstate 87 in Ardsley.
During the stop, officers observed Guzman throwing a clear plastic bag containing a white substance down an embankment.
An investigation determined Guzman was in possession of 18 grams of cocaine and metal knuckles.
Guzman was transported to SP Tarrytown for processing and arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court.
He reappeared in the Town of Greenburgh Court on April 28.
The investigation is ongoing.
