BRIDGEPORT — A 46-year-old local man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with vandalism and theft at a Main Street business.
Michael Young was taken into custody after police responded to a complaint at 1000 Main Street at approximately 1:00 a.m.
The store owner, Dave Schneider, provided officers with a clear photograph of the suspect.
Officers canvassed the area and located Young riding a white and purple bicycle near Fairfield Avenue and Seely Street.
After initially refusing verbal commands, Young was detained at 856 Fairfield Avenue.
A search of Young’s possessions revealed a black Nautica jacket matching the suspect description and a plastic bag containing black jean shorts and a hoodie with tags still attached.
Schneider later confirmed the clothing items were stolen from his store and positively identified Young as the offender.
Young, who police say was involved in previous burglaries at the same location, was transported without incident to 300 Congress Street for booking.
