WESTMORE — Vermont State Police search and rescue teams have located a body believed to be that of a hiker missing since January.
During a training exercise Wednesday afternoon near Lake Willoughby, crews discovered what they believe to be the remains of Sue Mi Ko, 51, of Craftsbury, several hundred yards from the Mount Pisgah trailhead.
Ko had been missing since January 9, when she was reported overdue from hiking in the area.
An autopsy will be conducted at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police said there continue to be no indications that the incident is suspicious.
Ko was initially reported missing during winter conditions. Authorities had sought information from anyone who hiked the area at that time.
