SPRINGFIELD — A 20-year-old Springfield man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month.
Daniel Walker was taken into custody around 6:45 a.m. at a home on the 100 block of Pasco Road by members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
The arrest stems from an April 15 incident when Springfield Police Officers responded to a parking lot on the 1600 block of Boston Road for a reported armed robbery.
Authorities allege Walker pointed a firearm at a victim and stole the victim’s electronic bike while riding an illegal off-highway vehicle.
Walker was arrested in Chicopee later that evening on unrelated charges while riding a quad, according to police.
The victim was unharmed in the incident.
Police later recovered the stolen e-bike in Chicopee.
Springfield Police Detectives, under the direction of Captain Trent Duda, identified Walker as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Following Walker’s arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at his home where law enforcement officers discovered various rounds of ammunition.
Walker is charged with firearm-armed and masked robbery and possession of ammunition without an FID Card.
The investigation remains ongoing.
