SCHENECTADY — Police have identified the man shot and killed during an alleged home invasion as 28-year-old Yadram Singh of Schenectady.
The shooting occurred at 1834 Hamburg Street on Thursday, April 24, at approximately 11:30 p.m.
According to the Schenectady Police Department, Singh was shot by resident Marc A. Cunningham, 25, while Singh was “actively engaged in an armed home invasion” at the address.
Investigators determined that the firearm used by Cunningham was illegally possessed.
Cunningham has been charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a Class E felony.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
