PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested six individuals on various charges including drug trafficking, weapons violations, and other offenses during a series of operations in late April.
On April 24, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Jose F. Mendez, 29, of Pawtucket, for disorderly conduct and willful trespass.
Mendez was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and held as a bail violator pending arraignment in Third District Court.
The following day, members of the Detective Bureau arrested Wilson Ventura, 38, of Providence, on multiple charges including manufacturing with intent to deliver cocaine, marijuana, and xylazine, along with firearm violations.
Ventura faces four counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation, four counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was processed at State Police Headquarters and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions after being held as a Superior Court violator.
Also on April 25, Myishia Johnson, 38, of Providence, was arrested for operating an unlicensed vehicle rental business, conspiracy, and driving with a suspended license.
Johnson was processed and transported to the Women’s Intake Center after being held as a bail violator.
The same day, Algelys Ventura, 40, of Providence, was arrested on charges including manufacturing with intent to deliver cocaine, controlled substance conspiracy, and multiple firearm violations.
Ventura faces three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation and three counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
On April 28, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the FBI arrested Luis Aceituno, 27, of Providence, on a federal warrant for interstate transportation of stolen property and conspiracy.
Aceituno was taken to the Providence Federal Courthouse after being apprehended without incident.
Also on April 28, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael H. Gates, 35, of Cranston, on a Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear for sentencing on a technical violation related to possession of child pornography.
Gates was also charged with escape from custody (home confinement) and was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
