WARREN — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fatal fire that occurred at a residence on Ridgewood Drive.
The Warren Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 259 Ridgewood Drive at approximately 10:07 a.m. Monday, April 28.
Warren Rescue, Waldoboro Fire Department, Union Fire Department, and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Firefighters discovered one deceased individual inside the residence upon arrival.
The Warren Fire Chief requested the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office to conduct an investigation.
Investigators processed the scene and interviewed witnesses throughout the day.
The deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for identification and determination of cause of death.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
