Lancaster police arrest man on driving, drug charges

LANCASTER — A 20-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested on April 28 after police found him driving with a suspended license and in possession of marijuana.

Lancaster Police Department officers received a call for a welfare check on an individual in a car in a parking lot at 10:30 a.m.

The vehicle had left before officers arrived, but they later located it and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, Ean Smith of Sandown, was arrested for operating after suspension.

During a tow inventory of the vehicle, officers discovered marijuana inside the car.

Smith was charged with operating after suspension and possession of marijuana, with additional charges forthcoming.

He was released on personal recognizance bail pending a hearing in Lancaster District Court.
