UTICA — A 23-year-old Utica man was arrested after being caught on camera attempting to access a county employee’s computer and committing a lewd act, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Jovaan Leuthauser, who works for a commercial cleaning company, was charged with attempted computer trespass and harassment following incidents at the Oneida County Office Building at 800 Park Ave.
Sheriff Robert M. Maciol said an employee reported suspicious activity on April 22, followed by a complaint on April 28 that items in his office had been rearranged.
A camera was placed in the office, which recorded Leuthauser attempting to access the victim’s computer without permission and committing a lewd act.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Unit handled the complaint, resulting in Leuthauser’s arrest on April 29.
Leuthauser was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Utica City Court at a later date.
