Auburn man arrested for cocaine possession after bench warrant arrest

AUBURN — The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 26-year-old Auburn man on drug charges following a bench warrant arrest.

Jacob D. Heintz was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Deputies initially responded to 22 Morris Street in Auburn at approximately 1:06 p.m. on March 22 to locate Heintz for an active bench warrant.

After taking Heintz into custody, deputies discovered a baggy containing a white powdery substance during a search.

Laboratory analysis later confirmed the substance was cocaine.

Heintz was arrested on the drug charge at approximately 8:58 a.m. on April 26.

He was released with an appearance ticket to appear in Auburn City Court on May 7 at 1 p.m.
