Body of missing Hinsdale man found in Ashuelot River

HINSDALE — The body of a 61-year-old Hinsdale man who had been missing for several days was discovered in the Ashuelot River Monday morning, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Scott A. Plante, who had been the subject of a Silver Alert since Saturday, was found at 11:10 a.m. on April 28.

Plante had been reported missing to the Hinsdale Police Department on April 23, officials said.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department notified the State Police Marine Patrol after discovering the body in the river.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, at the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause and manner of death.

The Marine Patrol has taken the lead in the death investigation, with assistance from the Hinsdale Police Department, New Hampshire Fish and Game, and the medical examiner’s office.
