NAUGATUCK — A 66-year-old Naugatuck man was arrested after allegedly taking photos of a juvenile at a local Dunkin’ Donuts.
Police responded to reports of a possible fight at the 1182 New Haven Road location at approximately 10:45 a.m. on April 19.
Officers determined that a verbal altercation had occurred after a mother observed George Batza appearing to zoom his cell phone camera toward her 14-year-old daughter inside the establishment.
The juvenile was inside with her father while the mother was in the parking lot when she noticed Batza’s actions, according to police.
The confrontation between the parents and Batza ended when the suspect left the area.
Police located Batza shortly afterward and continued their investigation, which included reviewing photos that had been taken.
Batza was charged with breach of peace in the second degree and risk of injury to a minor.
He was released on a $15,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 7 at 9 a.m.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
