HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced Wednesday that detectives have arrested the second suspect connected to a stabbing incident at a McDonald’s in March.
At about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, members of the Holyoke Police Investigations Unit, Holyoke Police Narcotics Vice Bureau and Massachusetts State Police Violent Apprehension Section went to a home at 249 West Franklin Street after receiving information that Kristopher Russo, 19, was inside.
Russo, who had two active warrants, was located and placed under arrest.
The arrest warrant was issued in connection with an incident that occurred around 8:50 p.m. March 10, when officers responded to the McDonald’s at 285 Maple Street for an assault and battery involving three subjects.
Investigators say an adult male entered the restaurant and was immediately followed by two other adult males, later identified as Russo and Vicente Torres, 26.
Russo and Torres are alleged to have stabbed the adult male victim, who allegedly stabbed Torres during the altercation.
The adult male victim was taken to Holyoke Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Torres was located later that evening at High Street and Suffolk Street suffering from a serious stab wound.
He was transported to Baystate and placed under arrest.
Russo is charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and a default warrant from Holyoke District Court.
Torres was charged March 10 with armed assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
