BOSTON — Members of the Boston Police Department Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Victor Vega, 33, of Roxbury at about 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the area of 44 John Elliot Square.
Authorities said Vega was wanted on a warrant issued from Roxbury District Court on multiple charges including carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and malicious destruction of property over $1,200.
Vega is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
According to police, the warrant stemmed from an incident reported at about 9:56 a.m. Thursday, April 10, when officers assigned to District B-2 responded to 32 Maple Street for reports of shots fired.
Officers did not find any victims but recovered ballistic evidence on Maple Street and Cheney Street.
Detectives distributed an image of a suspect vehicle seen fleeing the scene.
Police later located the vehicle unoccupied on Highland Avenue and towed it to District B-2 for further investigation.
