Boston police arrest Dorchester man on firearm, counterfeit charges after hotel incident

BOSTON — At about 10:39 p.m. on Friday, April 11, officers from District C-11 in Dorchester arrested Victor Baez-Lara, 33, of Dorchester, on firearm-related offenses.

Officers responded to 800 William T. Morrissey Boulevard following a report of a fight.

Upon arrival, security staff told officers that a fight had occurred in the parking lot and that two vehicles had fled the area.

Security reported that one of the suspects had entered a hotel and was followed by security personnel.

The suspect, identified as Baez-Lara, was found inside the hotel’s laundry room.
Boston police located a firearm without a magazine, later determined to be a Sig Sauer P320, hidden under towels in the laundry room.

Officers also recovered about $7,000 in counterfeit money at the scene.

Baez-Lara was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of counterfeit note.

Police also found Baez-Lara had an active warrant from Hingham District Court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
